Frequently asked questions.

Everything we are asked most often about the ghee, the preorder and delivery. If your question is not here, write to us and a person will answer it.

What is House of Aurea West Country Ghee?

House of Aurea West Country Ghee is clarified butter made in Yeovil, Somerset, from organic, grass-fed butter produced during the spring and summer months.

It is House of Aurea’s first release and the beginning of our commitment to exceptional single ingredients, sourced from the places that produce them best.

What are the ingredients?

One ingredient: organic, grass-fed cow’s milk butter.

Our ghee contains milk. Please always review the ingredient and allergen information printed on the jar before use.

What makes House of Aurea ghee different from ordinary ghee?

Exceptional ghee begins with exceptional butter.

Ours is produced from organic, grass-fed spring and summer butter from the West Country of England, where dairy farming is shaped by pasture, rainfall and a long tradition of butter-making.

It is made in deliberately limited quantities, with close attention paid to season, provenance and flavour.

Why is it made in Yeovil?

Yeovil sits within Somerset’s dairy country, surrounded by the pastures and farming traditions for which the West Country is known.

House of Aurea does not begin by asking where an ingredient can be produced most cheaply. We begin by asking where its finest source naturally belongs.

What does it taste like?

House of Aurea West Country Ghee has a rich, rounded character with the warm, gently nutty notes created as butter is slowly clarified.

Its flavour is present without overwhelming the food, allowing it to work in both everyday cooking and more considered dishes.

How large is each jar?

Each jar contains 350ml of House of Aurea West Country Ghee.

How much does it cost?

House of Aurea West Country Ghee is AED 220 per 350ml jar.

Why does it cost AED 220?

The price reflects the quality and seasonality of the butter, its organic and grass-fed provenance, its production in England’s West Country, the care involved in clarification, and the limited scale of our first production.

This is not intended to be the least expensive fat in the kitchen. It is an exceptional ingredient to be used deliberately, where its source and flavour can be appreciated.

Is this a preorder?

Yes. House of Aurea West Country Ghee is currently available as a paid preorder from our first production of 500 jars.

The full AED 220 is charged when you place your order. Your jar is expected to be delivered in December 2026.

When will my preorder arrive?

Delivery is expected during December 2026.

We will send an order confirmation after purchase and a separate dispatch confirmation once your jar is on its way. Tracking information will be included where available.

If the expected delivery window changes materially, we will contact you with an updated estimate.

Can I cancel my preorder?

Yes. You may cancel your preorder for a full refund at any time before your dispatch confirmation has been sent.

Please contact customer care with your order number and the email address used at checkout.

Do you accept returns?

Because ghee is a food product, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns after dispatch. Opened, used or seal-broken jars cannot be returned.

If your order arrives damaged, leaking, incorrect, unsafe or materially different from its description, please contact us as soon as possible. We will arrange an appropriate replacement or refund in accordance with our Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.

What should I do if my jar arrives damaged?

Please photograph the jar, seal, outer packaging and delivery label before disposing of anything.

Contact customer care with the photographs and your order number. Please do not consume a product that appears damaged, leaking or unsafe.

  • Oman

Shipping is complimentary on every order to a valid, courier-serviceable address within these countries.

Does ghee need to be refrigerated?

No. Ghee does not need to be refrigerated.

Store your jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Always use a clean, dry utensil and close the lid securely after use. Avoid introducing water or food particles into the jar.

Why has the texture of my ghee changed?

Ghee naturally responds to temperature. It may become liquid or softer in a warm kitchen and firmer or lightly grainy in cooler conditions.

These changes are entirely natural and do not, by themselves, mean that the product is defective or has lost quality.

Why might the colour or texture vary between jars?

House of Aurea West Country Ghee is made from a natural, seasonally influenced ingredient. Small variations in colour, aroma and texture may occur between production batches.

These differences are part of working with real butter rather than standardising the ingredient beyond recognition.

How can I use House of Aurea ghee?

It can be used wherever you would ordinarily use ghee, butter or another cooking fat, including:

  • frying eggs;
  • searing and basting meat or fish;
  • roasting potatoes and vegetables;
  • spooning through warm rice;
  • brushing between layers of filo pastry;
  • spreading over warm sourdough;
  • blending into coffee; and
  • stirring into warm milk or traditional drinks.

Can I cook with it at high temperatures?

Yes. Ghee is particularly well suited to frying, roasting, searing and other higher-temperature cooking methods because the milk solids and much of the moisture have been removed during clarification.

As with any cooking fat, it should not be left unattended or allowed to overheat.

Is House of Aurea ghee dairy-free?

No. Ghee is made from cow’s milk butter and must be treated as a milk-derived food.

Anyone with a milk allergy should not consume it unless advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional. Do not rely on general information about ghee when making an allergy-related decision.

Is it suitable for children or postpartum women?

House of Aurea West Country Ghee is a culinary food ingredient and may be used as part of ordinary meals according to individual dietary needs and traditions.

It is not a medical product, and we do not claim that it treats, prevents or supports recovery from any health condition. Anyone with specific medical, allergy, postpartum or infant-feeding concerns should seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.

Can I send a jar as a gift?

Yes. House of Aurea West Country Ghee has been created to feel as considered when given as it does when used.

Please enter the recipient’s delivery details at checkout. Complimentary GCC shipping also applies to gift orders.
