Dark Cocoa

Dark Cocoa begins with a search for the place where the earth makes cacao at its most exceptional.

House of Aurea is looking beyond darkness of colour alone, seeking cacao with extraordinary flavour and a naturally high concentration of polyphenols, the plant compounds responsible for much of cocoa’s antioxidant activity.

We will study origin, variety, climate, soil, harvest and processing, then verify the finished cocoa through independent testing. The aim is to find the source where richness of flavour and polyphenol content exist together: deeply roasted, gently bitter and naturally abundant in antioxidants.

No unnecessary sweetness. No added flavour. No attempt to disguise the character of the cacao.

One ingredient. One place. One season.

The origin will be named only when House of Aurea finds, and can prove, the source worthy of the release.
