Saffron begins with a search for the place where the earth makes Crocus sativus at its most extraordinary.

House of Aurea is looking beyond crimson colour alone, seeking saffron with remarkable aroma, natural colouring strength and an exceptional profile of crocin, picrocrocin and safranal: the compounds that shape its colour, taste and fragrance.

We will study origin, soil, altitude, harvest timing, hand-picking and drying, then verify the finished saffron through independent testing for identity, purity and quality.

The aim is to find threads that release luminous gold from only a small pinch, bloom slowly in warm milk and carry the unmistakable fragrance of honey, hay and delicate floral spice.
